3rd Annual ANZA Technology Network Conference
Reaches New Heights
Over 400 executives attended the ANZA Technology Network Australian and New Zealand Technology Showcase conference in Silicon Valley during 26-28 October.
US executives networked with 36 Australia and New Zealand showcasing companies who came to the conference looking for funding, partnerships and other avenues into the US market. Belinda Cooney, Associate Director, Macquarie Bank, who has attended all three conferences, said "The quality of the companies, the presentations and the audience just gets better and better. It was great to see some of Silicon Valley's most prominent VC funds working the crowd."
One of the highlights of the conference was the presentation of the Guy Manson Award to four outstanding showcasing companies. One of the winners of the award was Kevin Russeth, CEO, QR Sciences who said, "We were pleased to win the award considering the strength of the field of presenting companies and hope we can give back to the organization in coming years to honor Mr. Manson and help realize his desire to uncover and develop other hidden corporate gems in Australia/ New Zealand."
Initially having moderate expectations about the value of attending the ANZA Tech conference, Kevin left as a huge advocate "QRSciences participation in ANZA will go down as a highlight for the company in 2004. The conference was superbly organized and a networking playground for new technology companies giving them the opportunity to share and exchange information while meeting and mingling with professionals and business leaders across a large cross-section of technology related businesses. It was an outstanding event and a must for up and coming technology companies in the Australia/ New Zealand region."
 Another winner of the Guy Manson Award was Digital Monkey from Adelaide. David Evans, CEO, Digital Monkey said "The ANZA Tech Gateway Program has engendered a true culture change in Digital Monkey. Looking out from Adelaide, with no export experience, entering the US market seemed near to impossible. The platform ANZA Tech gave us has led to the connections we need to achieve success."
"Winning the award was such a long way from where we started at the Boot Camps. The feedback and mentorship that the ANZA Tech Gateway Program catapulted us from small town mentality to a position that we were able to present our technology in a way that made it attractive in Silicon Valley and throughout the rest of our US trip"
 The conference was the pinnacle of the ANZA Technology Network 'Gateway to the US' Conference Program which commenced back in August 2004. The program consisted of 17 events in 9 cities throughout the region attracting over 1,000 executives. Showcasing companies were given the opportunity to connect with 36 senior US executives who agreed to mentor the companies coming to the conference.
