4th ANZA Technology Network Showcase Conference
What Showcasing Companies Are Saying About the ANZA Conference Experience
“Thanks again for the best conference I have ever been to …. I have even presented at national and international conferences that were not this good……You are both to be congratulated on the excellent organisation, the depth and breadth of speakers, and the full support provided to delegates.”
Luceille Outhred CEO Digislide, Adelaide, South Australia
“This years ANZA conference was in my opinion, extremely well run and has already proved successful for our company and our push into the US……….
Our company and our flagship product, Intranet DASHBOARD received a fantastic response, not just from potential investors, but from our US clients, some of whom actually made the trip to join us at the conference. They too were interested in our US expansion plans.
I know that it would have been impossible for me to get an insight to the collective experience of companies, investment types, individuals, etc. and all facets of a US initiative, without this program. I think I now have at least 30 solid contacts that can help us with our US plans.”
Campbell Dobbin, CEO, Intranet Dashboard, Melbourne, Australia
“Thanks for a great conference…Highlights for me where the refresh about how hard (but good) the USA market is, and how you need to have your act together. The panels were great, and all added to the sense of really getting 6 months knowledge in 3 days – a very efficient way of doing it.
The various service offering that were present were also important and very relevant. Networking as top notch.
Probably another 20 companies from Aust / NZ should come over for the experience – not to present but to understand it all.”
Geoffrey Murdoch, Director, Meredith Asia Pacific Pty Ltd and Archer College, Adelaide, South Australia
“As a result of the conference we:
a) are discussing incorporating RocketReader with myinternet b) discussing in detail with two merchant banks c) found a potential US CEO who is keen to run with RocketReader has aready done 2 IPO in the educational software space - she is introducting us to some top VCs in the educational space d) found a great US PR company e) found an educational sales agent in the California f) commencing a pilot program at an international school in Minnesota g) found an entrepreneur who has attended many of the K12 trade shows around the USA over the last 20 years and knows this market very well - he is interested in marketing RR through these venues.
h) will be having thanksgiving with my mentor Sheryle Bolton i) will be having meeting with a SF VC
For us it was a great success - well done!”
Simon Ronald, CEO Rocket Reader, Adelaide, South Australia
“ANZAtech 2005 was a terrific place to be exchanging ideas on the best route to venture capital within the USA and to be networking with fellow entrepreneurs".
Secondly, thank you very much to both of you for organising a terrific conference. I found every session valuable and was able to take something away from each of them. We at VibraQ are very appreciative of what ANZA is trying to achieve and hope that it continues to grow and prosper.”
Barry Hobson and Norm Taylor, VibraQ Corporation Limited, Perth, Western Australia
Just wanted to let you know how useful we found the AnzaTech conference in Palo Alto. Our company will benefit greatly from the excellent contacts we made there and all the great advice we received….ANZA should be commended for doing a fantastic job putting it all together.”
Andrew Robinson, CEO, Ask Agent, Auckland, New Zealand
I thought the ANZATech conference was a great way to learn more about what's required to enter the US market sucessfully.
Access to the mentors and advisors was very valuable and I learnt a great deal, quickly. (And I realise I have a lot more to learn!)
The opportunity to watch 25 other Australian and New Zealand tech' companies present their credentials was also a terrific means to critically assess our offer and readiness to enter the market, and response accordingly.
In summary, ANZATech was a great experience, I learnt a lot and I'm sure it'll help us be successful in the US.
On a more personal note, you and Vicky do a great job with the program and I'm enjoying being part of the network ...
Viji Ratnam, Director, Decideware, Canberra, Australia
I have just finished the ANZA Technology Showcase here in Palo Alto. It Was great!!! I wish that this was the first step that I made into the US. Well worth the time, money and effort. The networking has been invaluable. We have received very candid (unusual for the US) feedback and advice re our strategy for the US and business development in general. It highlighted to me just how 'out of touch' many of the local advisors (ie based in Aust) are with this market. I was also disappointed, and embarrassed, that the Queensland government had absolutely no presence when Victoria and WA were so strong especially in consideration of the 'smart state' program.
Jenny Legge, CEO, Jobfit Systems, Queensland, Australia
As you know Axcess had been attending a number of USA based conferences but felt we were very imprecise in our approach. On hearing about ANZATech, and determining that it would add some real focus to our efforts to understand more about the USA market, we committed to attend and are very pleased we did so.
The conference was extremely well run and most importantly from our perspective very informative. Participating in ANZATech was a wonderful personal experience and has certainly provided a great deal of friendships, business contacts and information for us to assimilate and utilise in developing our strategy for the USA.
We look forward to hearing about, and participating in, the exciting new things you are going to be doing in 2006.
Michael and I would like to congratulate yourself and Viki for a fantastic conference
Kelvin Poole, Director Sales & Marketing, Axcess Consulting Group, Victoria, Australia
The ANZATECH conference was very useful in bringing together all the items required to position a business for success in the US. The Mentor Program, access to the Networking opportunities and the great breadth of experience in the panelists was a hallmark. To get this exposure over 3 days was extremely productive.
Congratulations to you, Viki and your team.
Fred van den Hout, iSpek Director, Amcor , California, Australia.
In reference to my experience at the conference it was an extremely positive event both personally and from a business aspect. The thing that surprised me and was not something that I had fully comprehended (or believed) through the pre conference briefings was the level of networking and contacts that would be made through the event. These contacts were also from a wide field which gives us a very good base level of a network for our plans to enter the US market. One of the contacts that I met up with a week later took me around San Francisco for the day showing me all of the business aspects, introduced me to a number of other business contacts and showed me around some of the areas where construction was happening. I have had contact with a number off the other people that I met at the conference since that are all interested in helping us pursue our entry into the market. While some of these are service providers they still provide us with many hours of free advice trying to win our business and developing a relationship. All of this has been of great benefit to date. It is still early days after the conference and the trip and some of the real benefit will be in the months ahead I though the whole event was of great benefit and would recommend the experience to others.
Aaron Savory, Business Manager, Imagemation, Perth, Western Australia
