Gateway to the US

ANZA provided us with a forum for examining what our strategic aims are, and helped us to better prepare for the future. In many ways, the Gateway to the US program acted as a 'taste-test' of US business culture.” -

EDUCATION + PROMOTION =
An informed decision about
entering the US market

Our premier program, the Gateway to the US, is designed for companies considering doing business in the world’s largest market. Since 2002, hundreds of Australian and New Zealand innovative companies have taken part in the Gateway to the US.

This is a 3-month program designed to educate Australian and New Zealand business owners, CEOs, senior executives, innovators and entrepreneurs about your company’s potential in the US marketplace.

The program begins with an intensive one-day FocUS Marketing Workshop at the end of August in a city near you and culminates with a 3-day Silicon Valley Summit in California in October. Along the way, we match you with a US-based mentor with experience and connections in your industry sector who will help you prepare to showcase your company in front of some of America’s leading investors, entrepreneurs and tech execs.

I got approached by two VCs after [my] pitch. We are still discussing the possibilities but the relationships are advancing well. They are both very interested in investing in our business. I also made a contact that may result in a partnership that will give us access to over 200 tier 1 clients across the US. My mentor was sensational—her guidance, advice and mentoring was invaluable.” -
Frank Grasso, Dynamic Creative

Throughout the 3-month period leading up to the Gateway Summit, you will have regular conference call meetings with your mentor, who will provide guidance and US business strategy tips to prepare you for the connections you will make once you arrive in the US. The Summit allows for participating companies, mentors, and ANZA network members—marketing and business analysts, technology and biotechnology experts, legal and financial advisers, and venture capitalists—to interact in an informal atmosphere designed to promote learning and making the right connections.

The best way to describe Gateway 2006 was ‘intimate’. As a result, the companies had ample opportunity for one-on-one discussions with panelists and consummate Valley networkers. I saw more than one company approached by two or three VCs right after the presentation session.” – Paul Fox, Foley Fox & Associates

Leading up to your showcase presentation, you will have another opportunity to work with ANZA’s FocUS Marketing Workshop team— US presentation expert Dan Sapp and DEMO Executive Producer Chris Shipley. Dan and Chris help you refine your company message and tailor it to what a US audience wants to hear.

I really enjoyed the Summit and made some great friends and contacts. I also have some great news; I got an invite to DEMO from Chris Shipley! Wow, this is huge for Chortal.... I would not have received this without going to the Gateway Summit.” - Baden Gilmore, Chortal

The highlight was the business presentation coaching from Dan Sapp. I’ve never had anyone work with me on my presentation skills to that level of
detail and success before.

Business panels round out the Summit. Each year, ANZA brings together a diverse group of marketing and business analysts, technology and biotechnology experts, legal and financial advisers, and venture capitalists to offer insight on the latest trends and developments occurring in the US market. Do you have questions about securing funding and partnerships, immigration, employment or incorporation laws, Web 2.0, US business practices and culture? The Gateway to the US Summit panels are lively and informative—and provide the answers you need.

The Summit was informative, practical, affordable and very worthwhile. The quality of speakers and information was of the highest level. The people were friendly, with a willingness to serve.” - Luceille Outhred, Digislide
